This would never have been done without Saudi Arabia`s agreement. The Saudis were behind the Arab peace plan that called for Palestinian independence. He added that any Arab country that wants to follow in the footsteps of the United Arab Emirates should in future demand a higher price from Israel for peace.

On September 10, Israel was the first airline to announce a direct air route between Israel and the United Arab Emirates.
